Electronic Conveyancing NSW

The New South Wales Government has mandated that as of 1 July 2018 all standalone transfers of land and caveats must be lodged electronically as the next step in the NSW Government mandated transition to electronic conveyancing (e-conveyancing).

The NSW Government has set a timeframe of 1 July 2019 for a full transition to e-conveyancing, so that by that date all mainstream property transactions are to be lodged electronically.

While there has been some concern about the security of the PEXA system lately (see in particular https://www.smh.com.au/business/companies/masterchef-finalist-conveyancer-hack-prompts-pexa-backlash-20180626-p4znv3.html), the corresponding response from PEXA increasing security processes and PEXA’s introduction of a consumer guarantee (see https://www.pexa.com.au/news/pexa-introduces-consumer-guarantee) have gone some way to secure the e-conveyancing process and provide peace of mind to consumers.

Nonetheless, these events underscore the importance of taking due care in dealing within the e-conveyancing system.

Stonebraker Lawyers is a member of the PEXA network and able to transact within the e-conveyancing platform with the care and diligence that you would expect for your conveyancing transaction.
